A Price For My Soul is The Bateleurs’ Single Out Now
Good Day Noir Family,
The opening guitar riff of “A Price For My Soul” doesn’t just pull you in, it hooks you and drags you straight into the swamps of Louisiana.
A Price For My Soul is The Bateleurs’ Single Out Now
There’s a raw, gritty blues-rock current running through the track, thick with humidity and heat, like an alligator hunt at dusk.
This isn’t polished pop blues; it’s blood-deep, instinctive, and alive.
Then comes the voice, sultry, fierce, and effortlessly controlled. The lead vocalist doesn’t just sing the blues; she embodies it. Every note carries weight, every nuance feels perfectly placed. There’s strength in her delivery, but also a sense of danger, like a whisper before the storm.
The band behind her plays with fire in their veins and precision in their hands. The transitions are seamless, the groove tight. It feels less like they’re performing and more like they’re channeling something ancient and powerful.
At times, you catch shades of Hendrix in the guitar tone and riffs, but what stands out is the communal energy—it’s easy to imagine this song shaking the walls of a sweat-drenched bar in New Orleans, strangers dancing like they’ve known each other forever.
And here’s the kicker—The Bateleurs are from Portugal. But judging by this track, they don’t just play American blues-rock. They live it. They breathe it. They make it their own.
