Never or Now is an emerging indie rock band defined by their raw, collaborative approach and a love for turning happy accidents into defining moments. Their debut single, Alabaster Chambers, began as a rough lyrical sketch by Arlo before evolving into a fully realized track shaped by the entire group. Lucas layered the early demos into rich arrangements, while Genie and Vyara crafted the driving rhythm section — with Vyara’s subtle BPM tweak giving the song its heartbeat. Even a misplaced vocal line in the bridge became a haunting, hypnotic centerpiece, embodying their ethos of embracing imperfection.
Recorded at Matchbox, the final version retains the grit of its raw demo while adding a fuller, more dynamic sound.
