Good Day Noir Family,
Right from the opening track Fight the Machine, it’s clear that Crisis Catalyst by Anthony Ellis isn’t here to play it safe.

Crisis Catalyst is Anthony Ellis – Ashes of Reason’s Album Out Now

This is a record built on fire and precision, where modern metal fuses with classic rock grit and a dash of progressive ambition.

Ellis isn’t just reviving old tropes—he’s reshaping them with a unique blend of urgency and scale. His vocal range is astonishing—dropping into rich, deep tones before ascending to piercing highs with ease, making each chorus feel like an eruption.

The second track, Desensitised Nation, keeps the engine roaring. Its relentless tempo punches forward like a bullet train, and the tight arrangement showcases Ellis’s control over momentum and impact.

Hallowed Be Thy Name takes a darker, more mystical turn. The intro riff carries a medieval edge, almost ritualistic in tone. The vocals here feel prophetic—eerie and commanding—pulling the listener into a trance before releasing a massive wall of sound. It’s this dynamic building and release that defines much of the album’s success.

Cost Too High is a standout moment of pure sonic aggression. The guitars thunder through like war machines, unstoppable and brutal. There’s no escape here, only submission to the overwhelming force of Ellis’s songwriting. Yet, it never feels chaotic—there’s always a sense of purpose beneath the chaos.

On The Long Return, Ellis dials things back just enough to reveal a more introspective side. With hints of a metal ballad, the track is shadowy and melodic, featuring some of the most spellbinding vocal delivery on the album—part siren song, part ghostly lament. It builds steadily into a crescendo that feels earned, not forced.

Then there’s Pineapple Party—the unexpected bonus track that punches through with wild energy. The riff is immediate, the groove addictive. It’s a track made for the pit, built for sweat, volume, and raised fists. It leaves the album not with a farewell, but a full-throttle encore.

Crisis Catalyst is a bold, well-executed piece of work that balances technical precision with emotional fire. Anthony Ellis shows not just skill, but vision—each track part of a larger narrative that hits hard.
