Good Day Noir Family,
Moody Idaho’s Dream House unfolds like a shimmering illusion, pulling the listener into a hazy dreamscape from the very first notes.

Dream House is Moody Idaho’s Ep Out Now

The opening track, Disappear Here, immediately calls to mind the atmospheric touch of bands like Mazzy Star.

The vocals carry an almost hypnotic quality, as if holding onto a secret just out of reach, while the distorted guitars shift with a slight tremolo, adding a sense of instability that keeps the track unpredictable.

Spit ventures into more surreal territory, its melody steeped in paranoia and mystery. The dusky ambiance remains, but the song takes on a more experimental edge, keeping the listener on uncertain ground.

Darkness blends nostalgia with a quiet sense of hope, showcasing the band’s ability to craft wide, immersive spaces filled with echoes and reverbs that feel as vast as a desert sky.

Halos at Midnight stands out with its delicate guitar arpeggio, a ballad that retains the group’s signature balance between the ethereal and the tangible.

Closing track Clocktower maintains this duality, where layers of distortion sporadically break through, jolting the listener from the hypnotic trance created by the rest of the EP.

Moody Idaho has created something deeply atmospheric and emotionally charged, a body of work that invites exploration while keeping an air of mystery intact.

Enchanting!

Moody Idaho, a Portland-based alternative rock band blending grunge, shoegaze, and ethereal vocals, has released their highly-anticipated debut album, Dream House. Fronted by Grace, the band’s lead vocalist and songwriter, with Andrew on bass, David on drums, and Colin on guitar, the band brings raw emotion and gritty nostalgia to life with a modern twist.
Grace began this musical journey as a poet, collaborating with friends just for fun. “It started as something small, just me and a friend. But when our mutual friend Stephen Fisk offered to record demos, he believed in the project and pushed me to invite others to join the process,” Grace explains. “People came and went, but through our community, we found David on drums and Colin on guitar. It’s been a labor of love bringing these songs to life. They all pull from my personal experiences.”
Dream House draws heavily from the sounds of 90s alt-rock legends like Radiohead, My Bloody Valentine, Smashing Pumpkins, and Heatmiser. “We talk a lot about missing the raw edge of early 90s music,” Grace says. “At the same time, we are really inspired by the harmonies and vocal lines of artists like Boy Genius and Mazzy Star. Our sound weaves the grit of grunge with shoegaze atmospheres and feminine vocals to create something unique.”
