Electric Gloom is Hollow Shift’s Single Out Now
Good Day Noir Family,
A heavily reverberated guitar riff cuts through the silence and paves a crepuscular way for Hollow Shift’s “Electric Gloom.”

The beat pushes forward, and a gothic atmosphere wraps around the listener like damp night air. The track feels nocturnal and urgent.
It brings to mind rain-soaked streets reflecting neon signs after midnight, when the city glows in fractured colors and the night truly begins.
The duo shapes the mood with precision. The rhythm section drives the song at a brisk pace, while layered textures expand the sonic space without overcrowding it. There’s a subtle retro touch in the tones, yet modern production keeps everything sharp and defined. The song balances nostalgia with a dystopian edge.
There’s something almost vampiric in its energy. “Electric Gloom” sounds made for those who come alive after sunset, when inhibitions loosen and tomorrow feels distant. The melodies glide over the pulsing beat, and the arrangement allows each element to breathe. While the aesthetic leans toward gothic noir, the execution remains contemporary.
The imagery feels cinematic. At times, the song resembles a Hopper painting reimagined in electric neon, where solitude meets movement and shadow meets glow. The groove keeps you moving, even as the atmosphere invites introspection.
In addition, the release includes a bonus track, “Fire and Smoke.” The opening line, “the world is a graveyard,” signals that noir and gothic themes run deep in Hollow Shift’s creative DNA. This track also drives forward with intensity. Still, it maintains the duo’s signature mood, merging dark textures with forward momentum.
Together, these songs reveal a project that understands style and structure. Hollow Shift crafts music for night dwellers, dreamers, and restless souls. “Electric Gloom” stands as a statement from a duo unafraid to embrace shadow while keeping the pulse alive.

Alex Zamparas, a multi-instrumentalist and producer, shapes the project with layered synths and driving production, drawing from his work with acts like Expert Medicine and Fever Kids. Australian-born singer-songwriter Jessica Bell brings expressive vocals and cinematic lyricism, adding emotional depth to the duo’s atmospheric sound.
