Good Day Noir Family,
Weeping Kin’s Epoch of Mourning is a journey through shadow and sorrow, a collection of tracks that feel like forgotten rituals brought to life through sound.

From the first metallic chime of All Fee Silent, the EP sets an ominous tone.
A lonely piano begins to unfurl a melancholic melody before a raw, serrated guitar emerges, slicing through the air with eerie precision. The long, brooding intro builds anticipation, making way for a spectral voice that feels like an oracle delivering cryptic messages from beyond.
With lyrical references to Poe’s The Conqueror Worm, the song gains an even deeper sense of literary darkness.
Dear Brother Tristan follows with a dystopian guitar tone drenched in reverb, carving out an open, desolate space. The slow, heavy rhythm and spectral vocals conjure an atmosphere that could belong to a post-apocalyptic lament, a dirge for lost futures.
Then comes The Procession / Weeping Kin, where the toll of a bell and the solemn swell of an organ immediately set a funereal mood. The track unfolds into something grand and cinematic, with a guitar solo that shifts through unexpected harmonic turns, giving it an unstable yet mesmerizing quality.
The closing track, A Place in My Dreams, brings the EP to a haunting finish. The blend of piano and guitar work here is stunning, solidifying Weeping Kin’s ability to craft darkly immersive compositions.
Epoch of Mourning is an intense and atmospheric experience, ideal for those who find beauty in the shadows.

Haunting!
Epoch of Mourning is Weeping Kin’s Ep Out Now
WEEPING KIN is the doom metal project of Tom Ott from Amberg, Germany, crafting melancholic and melodic heaviness. Influenced by My Dying Bride, Mourning Beloveth, and Swallow the Sun, the music blends crushing dual guitars, slow rhythms, and haunting vocals with progressive elements.
Debuting in 2022 with Gnawing, Ott delivered an hour of immersive sorrow, followed by 2023’s Waterbound, an ambitious concept album. In 2025, the Epoch of Mourning EP offered a more direct yet emotionally rich experience, accompanied by the atmospheric video for “A Place in My Dreams.”
