Eternal Distance is Burnt Souls’ Album Out Now

Good Day Noir Family,
Burnt Souls’ Eternal Distance opens with Grey Stone Walls, where a dark arpeggiator and atmospheric synths serve as a gateway into the band’s world.

Soon, a rich guitar arpeggio joins in, creating a mood that is intriguing and immersive. The vocal delivery is expressive, theatrical, and unmistakably distinct.

The title track, Eternal, solidifies the band’s gothic rock identity. There’s an undeniable 1980s influence, yet the production feels forward-looking, almost dystopian, as if it were made for the soundtrack of a sci-fi epic like Mad Max. The fusion of past and future in their sound is one of Burnt Souls’ defining strengths.

Exhilaration with a hypnotic melody and recurring arpeggios that pulse in and out like waves is a fantastic tune. The arrangement seems designed to stimulate the imagination, conjuring vivid, dreamlike visions. The guitars sometimes take on a trembling quality, giving the music a balance of fragility and strength—like the flicker of a candle in a dark room.

The mood takes a more sinister turn with In Control, evoking the tension of an ’80s John Carpenter film, fog rolling across deserted streets under dim streetlights. The combination of keys, guitar textures, and the singer’s unique timbre results in an atmosphere that feels both familiar and singular. Echoes of The Cure, Depeche Mode, and even touches of Christian Death can be heard, though Burnt Souls carve their own space in that lineage.

Night Wish lightens the tone slightly, with an ethereal, dark lullaby feel paired with a rhythm that invites movement. Its melody carries a sense of escape, the kind that can pull the listener’s thoughts far from the present moment. The closer, Insomnia, reaffirms the band’s cohesive style, wrapping the album in a consistent, emotionally charged framework.

Eternal Distance is a richly textured work made for the night—an album that thrives on mood, detail, and emotional resonance.
