This band doesn’t follow trends. They bend them, stretch them, and reassemble them into something that feels oddly timeless.
The opening track, El Niño, pulses with a hypnotic energy. Its layered instrumentation recalls the experimental spirit of the late ‘70s and early ‘80s, yet there’s a futuristic sheen that keeps it firmly grounded in the now. The arrangement drifts in a dreamlike state, grounded by purpose but always teasing escape.
Foolish Flame follows with a groove that dances gently, somewhere between a sigh and a sway. There’s a softness here that masks its strength, like fire seen through glass—fluid, flickering, never still. It manages to be intimate and mysterious without falling into cliché.
Then comes Lotus Eaters, and the mood changes. This track is a meditation as much as it is a song. Its long intro builds patiently, leading the listener into something boldly abstract. There’s a slight flavour of Middle Eastern melody, giving it a wandering spirit. It moves like a hallucination that you’re not quite ready to leave.
The title track, Ethereal Enclave, offers something gentler. The tempo slows, but the intensity remains just differently shaped. Its structure opens like a gate to another dimension, and for a moment, it’s as if gravity no longer applies. There’s something freeing in its quiet ambition.
Love Streams adds a dose of rhythm that’s surprisingly playful, yet still anchored in the band’s atmospheric depth. There’s a melodic quality here that vaguely echoes The Beatles, but reimagined through the lens of a futuristic dreaming in sound.
The closer, Marie Celeste (La Niña), is the perfect coda. One that encapsulates ArBand Rare Seed’s creative identity: bold, cinematic, and deeply curious. With subtle nods to Bowie, Pink Floyd, and Radiohead, they chart a course uniquely their own.
This album evokes the imagination of Fellini and the icy grandeur of Kubrick, all filtered through a musical lens that feels born in a world just slightly different than ours.

Rare Seed is a contemporary rock band whose sound is as genre-defying as it is emotionally rich. Drawing influence from Stereolab, Thee Oh Sees, and My Bloody Valentine, the band blends elements of jazz, classical, hip-hop, and psychedelic rock into a style that’s uniquely their own. At the center of Rare Seed is Lex Condes—drummer, vocalist, lyricist, and guitarist—whose background in post-punk and metal shapes the band’s raw energy and lyrical introspection.
Guitarists Ben Parker and Connor Herring bring fluid, expressive leads inspired by the likes of The Allman Brothers and Cream, while keyboardist Andrew Wise weaves classical and early jazz motifs into the band’s sonic architecture. Bassist Matthew Maggiore grounds the project with hip-hop-driven rhythms and a dynamic pulse.
