The brainchild of architect-turned-producer Cristian Ríos, this project dives headfirst into the uneasy coexistence of technology and human emotion, crafting a listening experience that feels intense and introspective.
The EP opens with “Fractured Truth,” a track that immediately transports you to a dystopian club scene. Pulsating with industrial and epic influences, it conjures images of dark Berlin warehouses, where rhythm and atmosphere dominate the senses. The relentless beats and jagged synth lines create a visceral energy.
Next is “No Signal,” a chaotic, adrenaline-fueled piece that recalls the frenetic spirit of The Prodigy. The pounding rhythm grips you, but just when the intensity peaks, the track suddenly drops into hypnotic melodic passages. It’s this push and pull that makes the song feel fresh and unpredictable.
“Silent Cities” follows, a track that feels visually evocative, like a sonic homage to Blade Runner. Its haunting layers and atmospheric depth paint a vivid picture of futuristic cityscapes, shrouded in neon glow and perpetual rain. Inspired by glitch art, ambient textures, and post-industrial rhythms, Riverlabs combines fractured melodies and cinematic atmospheres to evoke a sense of dislocation and introspection. Drawing on his background in architecture, Cristian approaches composition like spatial design—carefully shaping sonic elements to guide listeners through a dynamic landscape of light and shadow.
