Fragments///1.24 is Carry Me’s Ep Out Now

Good Day Noir Family,
There’s something immediately striking about Fragments///1.24, the debut EP from shoegaze outfit Carry Me. Even in its raw, demo-like form, the release reveals a band with a clear identity and a fearless artistic direction.

These five tracks, recorded live during the project’s early formation, carry an otherworldly energy—an echo of dreams translated into layered guitars and reverb-heavy vocals.

Opening with “Eurydice,” the band conjures a metaphysical landscape, airy and intense. The vocal delivery floats between the mystique of Jim Morrison and the clarity of Chris Martin, bringing weight and shape to a track that otherwise feels like it could dissolve into vapor.

“Lily Use My Hands” continues the EP’s drifting momentum. There’s a suspended quality to the arrangement—like time slows down inside the band’s sonic world. Echo-drenched vocals and wide-open instrumentation help build this feeling of being caught in an emotional limbo that never resolves, and maybe isn’t supposed to.

“Dry Eyes” introduces a colder, gothic tension. Its mournful rhythm and melodic phrasing bring a deeper shade of melancholy, evoking a sense of longing buried just below the surface. The shift in tone is subtle but effective, broadening the emotional palette of the record.

With “Sun and His Shade,” the band plays with structure—starting off in a hushed, folk-inspired mood before gradually returning to their signature sonic sprawl. The balance of softness and experimentation hints at their pot@ential to evolve without abandoning their core aesthetic.

“Tower in My Garden” strips things back. It’s an intimate, retro-sounding piece where the vocal is so close it feels like the singer is right there beside you. It’s a minimalist conclusion to an EP that has otherwise explored massive spaces, and it hits with its introspective clarity.

Though these tracks are presented in their early stages, Fragments///1.24 doesn’t feel incomplete. Instead, it offers a rare glimpse into a project being born—unpolished, honest, and full of potential. Carry Me has arrived with something real.
