Highs & lows is Eoin Shannon’s Album Out Now

Good Day Noir Family,
Eoin Shannon’s Highs & Lows is an album that feels timeless and deeply personal, carried by a voice that seems to drift in from another era.

Highs & lows is Eoin Shannon’s Album Out Now

It opens with Going Through Hell, a track with a gentle, retro atmosphere, light as a spring rain yet grounded by its emotional core.

It’s a graceful introduction that sets the tone for the record’s mix of intimacy and sophistication.

Fall Into Your Arms Again introduces a subtle female backing vocal, adding a layer of mystery and tenderness. The result is a delicate dreamscape—soft, romantic, and quietly evocative. Then comes One Crazy Day, perhaps one of the album’s most refined moments. There’s a cinematic elegance here, with the long, sustained vocal notes evoking a moonlit scene, bringing to mind the moody glamour of a Bond film soundtrack.

Pull The Plug / Pull The Curtain shifts into a more nocturnal register. Shannon’s voice takes on a western-tinged rasp, delivering an ethereal and nostalgic melody that feels intimate. The Closer You Are To God leans into bluesy, slightly shadowed territory, recalling the storytelling grit of Johnny Cash and the melodic fluidity of Dire Straits. It’s subtly dark yet full of character.

With Captain My Captain (Lord And Savior), Shannon adds a touch more rhythmic drive, balancing refined melody with light funk-rock accents. It maintains the retro charm while offering a fresh energy. The album closes with Pull The Plug / Pull The Curtain (Zhoca / Romacoolguy Mix), a lounge-inspired reimagining of the earlier track. With a warm, cocktail-hour vibe, it showcases the adaptability of Shannon’s songwriting, turning a noir-tinged ballad into something breezy and atmospheric.

Highs & Lows lives up to its name, delivering a journey of shifting moods and textures, always anchored by Shannon’s distinct voice and unerring melodic sensibility.
