E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like – Little Wretches

Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Little Wretches. I discovered this Band while shuffling songs on Spotify I loved their music and creativity.

The straight and honest sound of this band hit me straight away.

Nowadays we are inundated with electronic beats of all kinds and therefore when you hear this kind of music, the real one, is always a great pleasure.

The thing that I liked the most while listening to these songs is the passion that Little Wretches put into interpreting and performing their music.

You feel that you are faced with musicians with great compositional experience behind them as the chord progression and harmonic intuitions are never banal.

A creative style that takes inspiration from the legendary bands of the past, a genre that will be always capable to please listeners around the world.

The production is excellent and in particular the mix that leaves the right space for each sound element and the songs breathe well.

A nice discovery that I recommend to everyone.

Red Beets & Horseradish is Little Wretches’ Album Out Now!

Real and Sincere!

RED BEETS AND HORSERADISH is inspired by a relish or side-dish usually served around the holidays of Easter or Passover by various ethnicities of Eastern Europe. For the Serbs, for example, the red of the beets is symbolic of the blood of their people, and the horseradish the bitterness of their suffering. For others, the symbolism involves the blood of their savior and the bitterness of His suffering. People in the Jewish tradition also enjoy the dish, but there is no blood involved—the beets are merely for flavor—but the horseradish does represent the memory of bitter suffering in bondage.

The songs on the album involve vignettes and portraits of people who’ve suffered—old people, sick people, crazy people, people who are alone—but the heart of the songs lies not in the suffering of the characters but in the indomitable faith and humor that sustains them.

Drums–Mike Madden, Bass–John Carson, Piano–H.K. Hilner, Hollis Greathouse, Guitars–Robert Andrew Wagner, Lead Vocals—Robert Andrew Wagner and Rosa Colucci, Background Vocals—Emma Golebie, Jack Erdie, Rosa Colucci, Robert Wagner
