Each track features a different vocalist, yet the project holds together with surprising cohesion, thanks to Fisher’s guiding hand and a clear artistic vision: to create music that resonates.
The Album opens with May’s Song featuring Ava Wolsynuk. It draws on the emotional gravity of ’80s ballads, with Ava’s voice stretching across the mix like smoke in a quiet room.
There’s a rawness in her tone, something lived-in, giving the track weight without overstatement. It’s a strong and moving opener that invites the listener into the world of MOONDANCING.
Midnight Sky with Annika Catharina follows, shifting the mood toward something more shadowy and blues-tinged. Annika’s voice has a velvet edge to it, and the arrangement creates an atmosphere that feels like wandering city streets under amber lights.
Instrumental track Nine Lives provides a moment of stillness. Its arrangement is minimalist yet evocative, conjuring the calm of a Japanese garden. The track’s meditative quality acts as a breather, and its soft intricacy is surprisingly moving without a single word sung.
Lessons of Love, featuring Mara Hatklin brings the melancholy back into focus. Mara’s delivery cuts deep, echoing the kind of quiet sorrow that lingers long after the track ends. This is a ballad that understands restraint, using subtle phrasing and mood to stir something personal in the listener.
The Album closes with Soul Dance featuring Jackie Lee—a noir-shaded groove that feels pulled straight from a lonely New York alley at midnight. There’s a slow, smoky rhythm to it, like steam rising from the pavement. Jackie’s vocal performance is smooth and haunting, a perfect send-off to this emotionally rich project.
MOONDANCING doesn’t shout to be heard—it lures you in gradually. Each track stands on its own but also serves a purpose in the broader narrative. This is late-night music for thinking, feeling, and maybe healing a little too.

Michael invites some of the best players in the Fraser Valley of BC and beyond to play and collaborate on his songs. Michael feels this album is a good cross-section of the musical diversity of the group and represents some of his best work as a songwriter and producer, stating “It feels like a lifetime of work.
