Edgar Allan Poets – Noir Rock Band | Night's Cross is Rosetta West's Album Out Now
Night’s Cross is Rosetta West’s Album Out Now

Good Day Noir Family,
From the very first track, Save Me, it’s clear that Night’s Cross is an album built on a foundation of classic rock, infused with a dramatic flair that sets it apart.

Night’s Cross is Rosetta West’s Album Out Now

Rosetta West blends gritty alternative energy with a theatrical intensity that at times recalls Queens of the Stone Age, while also embracing deep blues influences and a strong sense of storytelling.

Suzie kicks in with a bold guitar riff, setting a raw and infectious tone. Meanwhile, Dora Lee leans into blues roots with a rhythm that sticks in your head.

Then there’s Diana, a haunting desert ballad with a Western spirit that pulls the listener into a cinematic dreamscape. The band has a knack for creating vivid imagery, and Alligator Farm is a prime example, transporting you straight to the Louisiana swamps with its moody, atmospheric presence.

One of the album’s standout moments is Desperation, where tribal rhythms and funeral-march intensity create an almost hypnotic experience.

Death is a recurring theme throughout the record, and Oh Death drives this fascination home, embodying a raw, almost ritualistic energy.

Underground Again shifts gears, bringing in country elements with a slide guitar that evokes the vast landscapes of the Appalachian Mountains.

Rosetta West delivers an album rich in mystery, grit, and powerful imagery. Night’s Cross feels like a journey through the shadows, guided by masterful storytelling and a fearless approach to genre-bending rock.

Enigmatic!

Night’s Cross is Rosetta West’s Album Out Now

Rosetta West is a blues rock band from Illinois. Their music frequently includes elements of psychedelia and world folk music, and their lyrical themes often venture into mysticism and spirituality. Founder and songwriter Joseph Demagore handles vocals, guitars, and keyboards. Jason X plays bass and keyboards, and was co-producer and sound engineer for the new Night’s Cross album, which was recorded at a home studio in rural Illinois. Nathan Q. Scratch plays drums and percussion. “Night’s Cross” is the follow-up to last year’s well-received “Labyrinth” album, and continues in similar musical veins.

However, the contemplation of death is a common theme that runs through many of the “Night’s Cross” songs, and the music is a bit darker and harder as well. The mood is not morbid though – it is just heavier whereas “Labyrinth” had a light feel at times.
With the exception of a one-off release with Alive Records, Rosetta West has maintained a long, unconventional and fiercely independent underground career. They have fans around the world, and their many releases are well worth seeking out. Check Bandcamp, YouTube, and other platforms for these rare treasures.
