Oh, Sinai! is Tritonic’s Single Out Now

This decision alone reflects the band’s intent: they are not here to chase trends, but to carve out their own path.

The track begins with instability. A jagged guitar riff echoes with shades of black metal, creating an immediate sense of unease. Instead of following the expected path, Tritonic pair this abrasive texture with vocals that carry a melodic, Bowie-like timbre. The combination places the song in a dimension that feels futuristic, experimental, and disorienting. There is no percussion at first, and the absence of rhythm makes the opening all the more haunting.

When the drums finally arrive, they avoid the restless speed suggested by the guitar. Instead, the percussion settles into a heavy, deliberate cadence. This shift transforms the song’s momentum, replacing chaos with something more ceremonial. The atmosphere takes on an epic scale, as if the listener is witnessing a ritual in motion. The melodic contours of the chorus amplify this effect, inviting the audience to join in, almost like a chant.

Electronic whistles introduce the bridge, signaling a new phase. Here, the track mutates into a delirious storm of sound, a sonic sabbath where hard rock flourishes rise to the surface. The atmosphere is layered with enigmatic harmonies that blur the line between the human and the ritualistic. The effect is immersive, intense, and ultimately exhilarating.

With Oh, Sinai!, Tritonic prove once again that their vision is singular. They combine heavy textures, futuristic arrangements, and gnostic-inspired themes into something that challenges conventions while remaining accessible through melody. It is a track that not only excites anticipation for Bend the Arc! but also reaffirms the band’s fearless creative identity.

Ritualistic!

Oh, Sinai! is Tritonic’s Single Out Now

Tritonic began as a spark in the Indian Ocean, when Peter Jewkes was living in exile in the Maldives. On his return, he reunited with old friends and in 2015 they released their debut Swimmer EP. The band scattered again to Kenya, Switzerland, and the USA before reconvening for their first full-length, Port of Spain (2020) — an album that defied hardcore conventions with a fearless embrace of pop and indie. Maximum Rocknroll hailed it as “a blistering aural soundscape of an album.”

In 2022, Tritonic dropped the Algae Bloom EP, a twelve-minute burst of chaotic joy that tore apart punk and hardcore boundaries, colliding big beat, gospel, math rock, pop, and polemic. If Algae Bloom was light and direct, their latest release Bend the Arc! pushes in the opposite direction — austere, challenging, and thematically unyielding. With one foot rooted in hardcore and the other stepping far beyond it, Tritonic continue to redefine what heavy music can mean.
