There’s a preacher-like gravity in the opening vocal, pulling the listener into a charged atmosphere where rebellion isn’t just implied—it’s demanded.
The energy is raw, the mood confrontational, and it’s clear this track isn’t here to entertain so much as awaken.
What follows is an electrified escalation: distorted guitars crash into sharp, pulsing arpeggiators, creating a sonic storm that feels urgent and unpredictable. Every layer seems to serve a purpose, not just musically, but philosophically. There are guitar licks with a slight Middle Eastern inflexion, evoking the dryness of a moral wasteland. It’s subtle, but it sticks with you, like a question left hanging in the heat.
Lyrically, this isn’t just commentary, it’s an indictment. The world feels broken, progress is stalling, and Jakob is holding up a mirror to a decaying system. There’s anger, but it’s not blind rage. It’s precise. It’s the kind of frustration that comes from paying attention.
The vocal delivery is intense, but never messy. Jakob balances grit with control, sounding completely immersed in the moment without ever losing focus.
The video accompanying the single amplifies the message even further. He performs with fierce intent, often isolated in black and white while the background blazes in color. It’s a smart visual metaphor—he’s the so-called outcast, the “black sheep,” yet the one who seems awake, clear, and purposeful.
Paradigm $H!T is the kind of protest track that doesn’t need slogans. It’s not telling you what to think, it’s forcing you to confront why you haven’t been thinking more. And in a time of confusion and regression, that feels necessary.

Paradigm $H!T is Jakob The Liar’s Single & Video Out Now
Born out of a visceral anger and crushing despair with the current political paradigm and seeming collapse of common sense, the song is a defiant fist of resistance, giving nods to activist firebrands Rage Against the Machine.
Life-long globetrotter Jakob The Liar, aka Jakob Kupferberg, is an enigmatic singer songwriter and musician who grew up finding solace in his father’s battered guitars as an escape from a turbulent and ever-changing upbringing. His life trajectory was forever changed when a mystery illness held him captive and stole 10 years of his life, laying the seeds for the music he was destined to create. Coming out on the other side, Jakob understood his recovery was as unlikely as it was miraculous. As he travelled the world on a journey to heal and find purpose, Jakob continued to develop his unpredictable yet strangely therapeutic songwriting.
