Good Day Noir Family,
With Peacekeeper, 9 o’clock Nasty once again prove they’re not afraid to mix the chaotic with the clever.

The groove hits immediately—dirty, driving, and oddly familiar. It echoes Breed by Nirvana in structure but throws in a dose of sneaky wit and swagger more aligned with the Beastie Boys getting caught in a grunge alleyway.

This isn’t a blunt-force punk track, though. The rhythm is tight but not rushed—almost sly in its delivery. The bass and drums lock into a slinking pulse, while the guitars chew through distortion with unfiltered grit.

The vocals ride the edge between sarcastic commentary and shout-along rebellion, inviting the listener to join in rather than stand back.

Peacekeeper offers a tongue-in-cheek take on modern global tension. It’s playful on the surface, but just under the skin, there’s a nervous twitch—a vibe that fits a world half-glued together by memes and military standoffs.

The paranoia is dressed in danceable punk clothes, and somehow that contrast makes it more effective.

9 o’clock Nasty know their tone—irreverent but sharp, noisy but intentional. Peacekeeper is a middle finger with a grin, delivered through a track that grooves, growls, and grins all at once.

9 o’clock Nasty is a genre-defying punk trio from Leicester, England, renowned for their audacious sound and sharp wit. Comprising Pete Brock (guitar, vocals), Ted Pepper (bass, vocals), and Sydd Spudd (drums), the band has carved a niche in the UK’s underground scene with their eclectic musical style.

Their 2022 album By All Means Necessary showcased a raw, garage-rock energy, delivering “door-kicking intros, driving verses, and anthemic choruses” . The 2023 release Culture War 23 further expanded their sonic palette, blending punk, funk, and indie rock to explore themes of modern disillusionment and satire . In 2024, they continued to push boundaries with singles like “The Wrong Guy,” a fusion of hip-hop and punk that delves into themes of mistaken identity , and “Kid Blast,” a track that balances brashness with melodic charm, encouraging listeners to reflect on the marks they leave on the world .

Their latest album, This Is Crowland (2025), is hailed as their most accomplished work, featuring tracks like “Hot Disco Shit” and “For The Sugar,” which blend disco rhythms with punk sensibilities . The album is noted for its lyrical depth, including references to Shakespeare, and its exploration of resilience and defiance in the face of modern chaos . 9 o’clock Nasty continues to challenge musical conventions, delivering a sound that is both rebellious and reflective, solidifying their status as innovators in the contemporary punk scene.
