Edgar Allan Poets – Noir Rock Band | Jaded is Shouse's Album Out Now
Jaded is Shouse’s Album Out Now

Good Day Noir Family,
Listening to Jaded for the first time feels less like pressing play on an album and more like stepping into a carefully designed musical journey.

Jaded is Shouse’s Album Out Now

Right away, it’s clear that Shouse approaches composition with a cinematic mindset.

Moreover, the presence of an impressive roster of guest musicians—Michael Angelo Batio, Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal, Tony MacAlpine, Charlie Zeleny, and James Amhelio Pulli—adds depth without ever turning the project into a simple showcase of technique.

The album opens with Romeo and Juliet – Prelude, and the mood feels dramatic and almost operatic. The guitar lines don’t rush; instead, they breathe, allowing emotion to guide every note. As a result, the atmosphere recalls classic film scores, with echoes of Morricone-style tension and release. However, this is not nostalgia for its own sake. Rather, it sets the emotional foundation for what follows.

Soon after, Rome Is Gone shifts the tone decisively. The rhythm tightens, the energy sharpens, and the guitar work becomes more aggressive. Nevertheless, the track never feels chaotic. Instead, it balances urgency with control, reflecting a sense of loss and forward motion at the same time. Similarly, Let’s Go expands the album’s dynamic range. It moves between suspended, almost weightless passages and sections that hit with force. Consequently, the contrasts feel intentional and rewarding.

As the album progresses, Bucket of Bolts stands out for its unique riff and industrial-leaning pulse. Here, the guitar tone cuts through with clarity, while the rhythm section keeps everything grounded. Meanwhile, the featured musicians add character rather than distraction, enhancing the narrative arc. In the same way, the title track Jaded introduces a slightly more festive, progressive feel. The chord choices feel open and adventurous, and the melodic direction suggests renewal rather than exhaustion.

Upon Looking Back closes the album with a reflective yet uplifting mood. The groove feels warm, and subtle electronic textures add a gentle shimmer. Therefore, the ending doesn’t fade quietly but instead leaves a sense of resolution and perspective.

Overall, Jaded works as a complete instrumental statement. It blends virtuosity with storytelling, and although the performances are technically strong, the emotional intent always comes first. Shouse delivers an album that feels thoughtful, expressive, and confident in its identity.
