Good Day Noir Family,
“Skyrocket” kicks the door open with an intense piano and a noir-tinged guitar that immediately set a moody, theatrical tone.

Skyrocket is Sons of Martha’s Single Out Now

Sons of Martha waste no time in establishing their identity: bold, detailed, and musically ambitious.

From the very beginning, it’s clear this band isn’t chasing trends. The arrangement is rich and dynamic, driven by a piano melody that twists and turns with unexpected phrasing. The guitar adds grit, shaping the edges with a smoky elegance. There’s a bluesy flavor pulsing through the track, but it’s filtered through a lens of rock drama and stage-worthy energy.

Vocally, the delivery is confident and expressive, carrying the theatrical weight of the music without overdoing it. There’s something in the tone that hints at Queen — not in mimicry, but in the scope of the vision. This is a band that understands how to balance complexity with groove, how to push musical boundaries without losing the listener.

Rhythmically, “Skyrocket” moves with urgency. The tempo drives the song forward with a persistent pulse, but never feels rushed. Each section unfolds naturally, full of musical shifts that keep your ears locked in. It’s a track you can dance to, but also one you want to listen to closely — every part has intention behind it.

“Skyrocket” is the kind of song that makes you curious about what else the band is capable of. It’s intricate without being overcomplicated, stylish without being shallow, and, most of all, it sounds like a group that knows exactly what it wants to say.

“This one came from a place of optimism and restlessness,” Beach shares. “It’s about that magnetic pull toward something new.”

Formed in London in 2023, Sons of Martha are an indie rock band channeling notes of R.E.M., The Smiths, and the Go Betweens, but with a definite hard edge. Featuring Josh Beach on vocals, Tim Buckland on guitar, Stephen Morgan playing wonderful bass lines, King Otto on keys, and Steven Spencer on drums.
