The Funky Martians is Zachary Mason’s Single Out Now
Good Day Noir Family,
An arpeggio greets you with an unusual tone, something unique and strange, before it morphs into a slow yet sturdy rock riff.

The guitar takes a brief detour into a tasteful solo that creates the space for the vocal entrance.
Zachary Mason’s voice is drenched in effects, reverberating with an oracle-like quality that emphasizes the lower tones. It feels androgynous, almost alien, perfectly suited for the otherworldly concept of the song.
As the track progresses, robotic effects slide in, transporting the listener into a parallel, futuristic dimension. The rhythm is deliberately repetitive, creating a hypnotic pull that locks you into its groove.
Funk and rock collide here, with a thick, pulsing bassline courtesy of Little Big Town’s John Thomasson and some tight, dynamic drumming by Rose Hill Drive’s Nate Barnes. The synergy between the rhythm section and Mason’s textured guitar work builds a landscape that feels grounded and extraterrestrial.
This is a short trip to a vision of Mars, dusty and red, where music tells stories beyond Earth’s confines. Everything in the arrangement points toward an imagined world, a psychedelic dreamscape that blurs the line between reality and science fiction.
The Funky Martians showcases Mason’s ability to merge influences into a unique narrative, crafting a track that’s vibrant, strange, and undeniably transportive.
