When Your Demons Come is BRAINMAZE’s Album Out Now

Good Day Noir Family,
From the very first growl of Fear, BRAINMAZE doesn’t ask for permission—it kicks the door in and drags you into a world where darkness rules and hesitation is not an option.

When Your Demons Come is BRAINMAZE’s Album Out Now

The tension is immediate, almost cinematic in its horror-driven mood, but this isn’t just theater. It’s war. The guitars slice, the drums stomp, and the vocals hit like gravel in your throat.

Spite follows with even more intensity. This track doesn’t just punch—it swings wildly, dragging you through a brutal landscape that feels born of the ‘90s metal underground. There’s a rawness here that brings to mind Pantera’s aggression and Sepultura’s primal energy. The production keeps everything sharp but intentionally unpolished, letting the chaos breathe without being bloated.

Uncertainty might be the most vicious moment on the record. It doesn’t build—it detonates. The riffs come down like an avalanche, the drums thunder behind them, and the growled vocals tear through it all with precision. It’s the kind of track that leaves no room for thought—just reaction.

Envy continues the assault with a relentless rhythm that feels like an army of tanks rolling over the listener. The weight of the track is physical. It grinds forward with determination, and the structure shows an artist who understands how to let repetition turn into pressure without losing musicality.

By the time I’m Terrified hits, there’s no doubt: this album was built to devastate. The closing track is brutal and relentless, moving like a runaway bullet train. The vocal delivery shifts between low growls and urgent screams, occasionally echoing shades of Phil Anselmo or even Zack de la Rocha—but always maintaining its own identity. It’s a fitting end to an album that offers no escape.

With Brainmaze, Ivan Shishkov has delivered a focused, explosive debut that feels like the work of someone who’s lived every riff, every lyric, and every moment of its creation. This is not metal made to impress—it’s metal made to survive.

Relentless!

Bulgarian musician and photographer Ivan Shishkov proudly unveils his debut metal album, When Your Demons Come, the first release under his project Brainmaze. A decade in the making, this intensely personal record was born from years of after-midnight writing sessions, sonic experimentation, and unwavering creative drive. Composed entirely on his bass guitar, the album explores themes of inner conflict, fear, and emotional isolation.

A true solo endeavor in concept, music, lyrics, and design, When Your Demons Come also features the talents of international collaborators—from the UK to Argentina—who helped shape its raw and aggressive sound. With recording, mixing, and mastering completed across multiple countries, the album stands as a global collaboration anchored by one man’s vision.

Ivan says, “This music lived in my head for years. Now it’s finally real.”
