Good Day Noir Family,
Tritonic’s latest single “Alexamenos!” opens like a descent into a void.

A heavy curtain of dark, abrasive guitar tones sets the atmosphere, while a frenetic, almost unhinged vocal delivery adds a layer of psychological tension.
For the first 45 seconds, it feels like the band is soundtracking the final flickers of reality before being swallowed by a black hole — abstract, volatile, intense.
Then, without warning, the song pivots. What starts in chaos shifts into something surprisingly structured. The guitars lock into a driving rhythm, and the vocals, once feral, settle into a melodic line that feels more accessible but never obvious. There’s still tension in the air, but now it’s the kind that propels rather than overwhelms. Tritonic never abandons their edge, but they show they’re not afraid to sculpt form from disorder.
This band thrives on unpredictability. Their music is confrontational and cerebral, often challenging the listener’s expectations with abrupt transitions and stylistic shapeshifting. Yet somehow, it works. Their sound feels more like performance art than genre exercise — brimming with intent, yet unafraid of disorientation.
“Alexamenos!” is a piece that dares you to follow it through multiple dimensions. At times apocalyptic, at others strangely catchy, it’s a mirror held up to instability — and Tritonic makes that instability feel deliberate, even necessary.

Tritonic is a boundary-pushing band born from exile and reunion. Formed in the Indian Ocean by Peter Jewkes and longtime friends, they debuted in 2015 with the Swimmer EP. After years scattered across continents, the group returned with 2020’s Port of Spain, a bold detour from hardcore into indie-pop terrain that Maximumrocknroll hailed as “a blistering aural soundscape.” Their 2022 Algae Bloom EP crammed punk, gospel, math rock, and big beat into twelve explosive minutes. Now, Bend the Arc! marks their starkest, most concept-driven work yet. Tritonic continues to redefine what heavy music can be — cerebral, chaotic, and always evolving.
