E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like – Apteekii

Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Apteekii. I discovered this Band while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked the melodies of their songs.

As soon as I hit play on this band’s music I was immediately struck by the innovative quality of their music.

A new sound that at times had a vintage feel to it but manages to be very modern.

For some reason listening to them, I thought of Moby, Brian Eno but also, maybe for some nuance, to Peter Gabriel and Radiohead.

However, even though they may remind me of someone, Apteekii are absolutely original and have been able to create a sound that distinguishes their music at first listen.

I liked the voice that is dubbed with choirs in different tones. Nice choice of grooves that push together with the bass but never forget to keep a mysterious and fascinating halo.

In this music I felt a bit of Nostalgia, a bit of tension for an uncertain future.

I let myself be carried away by the melodies and I saw myself in a world similar to that of Blade Runner. A bleak future that will let some rays of sunshine through the clouds.

There’s always hope, that’s what I hear when I listen to this beautiful music.

Secrets is Apteekii’s Single Out Now!

A different sound coming directly from a “past” future!

It’s the music for a dystopian film with hope for the future. There’s a darkness, a sadness, but also a longing and a beauty.”

Apteekii are Matthew Moore, David Gane and Mark Hatcher. Formed during the first Covid lockdown of 2020 they completed a debut EP without ever all being in a room together. On Jan 15th 2021, What’s Real became the first single to be released from these lockdown recordings.
