The opening title track sets the vibes, there’s no slow build-up, no gentle introduction.
Instead, the band dives into an angular groove with a nostalgic vocal that walks a tightrope between reflection and paranoia. It’s gritty, moody, and addictive in a very direct way.
No End Insight follows with a guitar riff that evokes early Foo Fighters, but things don’t stay familiar for long. The drums hit hard, like a hammer on the anvil—and as the distorted guitars build, the track morphs into something darker and more tense. It’s a chaotic energy that never fully resolves, giving the song a jagged intensity that keeps your ears alert.
Then comes Past Life, the emotional curveball of the set. This one trades in brute force for suspended textures, creating a dreamlike mood with layered keys and ghostly background vocals. It floats in a sort of sonic limbo, where time slows and the lines between memory and reality blur. It’s an unexpected turn that showcases the band’s ability to craft atmosphere without sacrificing identity.
The EP closes on Upswing, which lives up to its name. Energetic and determined, the track builds steadily with muscular riffs and dynamic shifts. The drums and guitars push and pull, driving forward without ever losing grip. It’s an anthem of sorts—punchy, focused, and satisfying.

Plaster, hailing from San Diego, CA, is a dynamic band that blends post-punk, indie, and rock influences into their unique sound. Formed in 2024 by Shea Villetet and Cameron Jackson, the band’s lineup expanded to include Jake Foster on drums, Miguel Nevarez on guitar and keys, and Brittany Bannister on keyboard/synth. Their music, born from bedroom collaborations, has evolved into a captivating live experience that has garnered attention across the county.
