E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like – Cam Maclean

Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Cam Maclean. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked his compositional style.

From the first seconds, the groove of the music proposed by this artist made me move in rhythm with this song.

A sound that has eighties influences…reminded you of George Michael on the beaches of Ibiza who gave us sometimes more dreamy and sometimes more danceable emotions.

Ideal music for the summer to enjoy at sunset with a cocktail in your hands, one of those days when you feel at your best and life smiles at you.

The vocal timbre is incredible and reaches very high tones which, however, are always expertly controlled by an excellent singing technique.

A talented artist able to surprise you that I recommend to everyone.

Magic and Refined!

Cam Maclean is a singer-songwriter, guitarist, and multi-instrumentalist based in Montreal. Maclean cut his teeth on a collaboration with Thom Gillies (TOPS, Blue Material) with whom he formed Vesuvio Solo. Nominated for the Polaris Music Prize both for their debut album “Favors,” (2014) and their sophomore LP “Don’t Leave Me in the Dark,” (2016).

Maclean and Gilles bridged musical differences and visions, touring broadly and playing festivals in North America and Europe. Maclean went on to release his debut solo LP “Wait for Love” in 2018. The record was well-received for its blend of crafted lyricism, inspired by singer-songwriter traditions, and contemporary indie-pop. Nylon Magazine touted Maclean as one of “five Montreal-based musicians you need to know,” and similar praise came from outlets such as Noisey and Gorilla vs. Bear, as well as Canadian news and media outlets such as Le Devoir and ET Canada.
