E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like – Darrian Gerard

Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Darrian Gerard. I discovered this artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked the atmosphere created by her music.

The magical voice of this talented artist immediately struck me.

A very captivating pop-rock, a musical approach that in some passages reminded me of Taylor Swift and in others Avril Lavigne.

The songs are well thought out and the chord progression is never predictable and banal and the listener is entertained from the first to the last second.

The production is excellent, the mix leaves the right space for each sound element and the song breathes well.

The passion with which Darrian Gerard composes and sings her songs is contagious and manages to transfer positive vibes.

An artist with a bright future ahead, keep her under your radar.

Energetic and Fresh!

Darrian Gerard is a singer/songwriter from a small town in British Columbia, Canada. She plays the guitar, bass, piano, and drums and is heavily influenced by Avril Lavigne, blink-182, Taylor Swift, Alanis Morissette, and Angels & Airwaves.

At the ripe age of 7 years old, she begged her parents to buy her a guitar. A few days, and a 20 dollar auction guitar later, she began writing songs about imaginary boys who didn’t treat her right and the heart-wrenching passing away of her first dog. From there, she’s used the catharsis of writing lyrics as a tool to express some of her deepest emotions and creativity.

Currently, Darrian is independently writing, recording, and producing in her home studio (basement) and releasing singles periodically. She also runs a YouTube channel where covers are posted weekly, ranging from Halsey to Foo Fighters. Live performances are at an indefinite halt, but Darrian is eager to start performing for people, hopefully in the near future.
