Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Distopia. I discovered this Band while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked their unusual way of composing music.
The first adjectives that came to my mind while listening to this band were refined and innovative.
A highly sought-after compositional method that in some passages reminded me of the Dave Matthews Band.
A chord progression never predictable and banal that manages to entertain the listener from the first to the last second with continuous interesting variations.
The production is a bit raw but in my opinion, it is perfect for the style of music proposed by this talented band.
A sound that winks at the past but at the same time manages to be modern.
The mix is very nice and leaves the right space for each sound element.
A nice find to add surely to our playlists.

Distopia is a three piece Alternative/Indie rock band from New York. Throughout 2020 and 2021, they have been playing live shows and finishing the recording of their first LP.
“Healing” is the first official Distopia release to be released across all DSPs. This song was written as an optimistic look into the future during a dark time in life.
