Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Drew Thomas. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked the vibes of his music.
A nice fresh modern sound comes to you as soon as you hit the play button.
A way of composing music that reminded me of the Verve of Richard Ashcroft, for some reason this music recreated those atmospheres in my mind, obviously in a more modern key.
The production is very professional I like the effects applied to the voice and the song builds up well, the chorus’s melody in particular is beautiful and catchy.
Drew Thomas’s music has a lot of energy and manages to entertain the listener from the first to the last second.
Interesting melodic intuition and attention to every smallest nuance are the key elements to achieve a music product of this quality.
Drew seems to have very clear ideas on how to bring his musical project to the masses and I’m sure he has a bright future ahead of him.
Vultures is Drew Thomas’s Single Out Now!
Energetic and Fascinating!
Raised in Nottingham, singer/songwriter Drew Thomas leads the charge of DIY indie musicians making waves on the unsigned circuit through hard work and powerful song-writing. Taking inspiration from the likes of Bon Iver, Fleetwood Mac and Sam Fender, Drew’s knack for writing arena sized choruses and nostalgic lyrics steals the listener’s attention immediately, merging passionate vocals and emotional soundscapes with a darker twist; spilling tales of rejection, broken relationships and addiction.
Since the disbanding of his former project, Mowbeck, Drew’s intimate solo sets around the country have sparked strong support from the likes of BBC Introducing and Sofar Sounds, labelling him ‘one to watch’ in 2021 and beyond. Drew’s new single Vultures, which was finished and recorded during lockdown, unleashes a gritty comeback to bad friendships, negativity and critics.
