Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to No Drinks For Jimmy. I discovered this Band while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked their rock energy.
E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like – No Drinks For Jimmy
This band unleashes contagious energy and their music is capable of awakening your wildest rock spirit.
Surely we are facing a band of a great experience that has managed over the years to reach an inviable musical understanding.
The songs of No Drinks For Jimmy flow well and manage to entertain the listener from the first to the last second with continuous twists and rhythmic variations.
Songs that winks at a way of composing music from the past but which manages to be modern at the same time.
The production is good, slightly raw but in my opinion perfect for the genre.
Raise your horns to the sky and go and listen to them.

Wild & Free!
What started as a way for brothers Dan Wilson (bassist) and Doug Wilson (drummer) to play music together, No Drinks For Jimmy formed in 1998 primarily as a bar band to play radio hits to the crowds around the Baltimore/Washington metropolitan area. Vocalist Kurt Lobdell has been with the band from the very start. Guitarist Joe Chichetti joined in 2003.
Their sound is a mix of post-grunge radio rock (Matchbox 20), 90’s Alternative (The Smashing Pumpkins) and late 90s/Early 2000s Power Pop (Blink 182) with a dash of new hard rock. In 2015, No Drinks For Jimmy decided to focus on writing, recording, and releasing all original music. In 2017, No Drinks For Jimmy released the 4-song original EP ‘Find The Fourth’. In May of 2021, No Drinks for Jimmy released their first full length album ‘Verse•Chorus•Rise’. Staying true to guitar driven tunes, thundering bass lines and pounding percussion, NDFJ thrills.
