Edgar Allan Poets – Noir Rock Band | Eleanor is Brother's Single Out Now
Eleanor is Brother’s Single Out Now

Good Day Noir Family,
From the opening moments of “Eleanor,” it’s clear Brother aren’t interested in following trends—they’re here to create a mood, and they do so with unshakable intent.

Eleanor is Brother’s Single Out Now

There’s a murky tension brewing under the surface, something dystopian that slowly tightens its grip.

The distorted guitars churn like machinery in motion, while the vocal line glides over the top, detached yet emotionally charged. It’s a strange balance—gritty but beautiful.

Around the 1:20 mark, the song sheds its slow-burn pacing and kicks into a more urgent gear. The drums shift from sparse syncopation into a full-speed, pulsating rhythm that drives the track forward like a runaway train. This is where Brother truly reveal their hand: a band confident enough to let the tension simmer, then explode when the moment’s right.

There are definite echoes of Smashing Pumpkins in the layered guitar work and overall ambition, but there’s also something more shadowed here—think Alice in Chains’ somber grit or Placebo’s darker glam.

The track would feel right at home on the soundtrack of a brooding sci-fi film—Blade Runner comes to mind—not just for the tone, but for the sense of mystery and emotional ambiguity.

The accompanying video leans hard into this aesthetic. Rendered with VHS-style grain and analog flicker, it evokes that elusive ‘80s feeling of a night you’re not sure really happened. A lone woman, lost in the rhythm of a hazy club scene, gives the track a visual story of fleeting connection and untold possibilities. It’s sensual, surreal, and quietly hypnotic.

“Eleanor” is a track that doesn’t shout—but it doesn’t need to. Brother know exactly what they’re doing, and they do it with style.

Cinematic!

From the windswept shores of North Shields, where the North Sea etches its poetry into the bones of the town, emerges Brother—a band that distills the stark beauty of their native North East into something urgent, raw, and deeply resonant.
