Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Elephant Wknd. I discovered this Band while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked the atmosphere created by their music.
I liked the sound of this band from the very first seconds. The distorted guitar sound immediately spoke to my soul.
The singer’s voice fascinated me with its low, solid timbre capable of making you believe in the words sung in the lyrics.
A band that has spent a lot of time in the rehearsal room to achieve such an enviable sound understanding … or rather it seems to be so.
Then when you read that this EP was conceived in just one weekend you are speechless.
The chord progression is never predictable and banal and the songs flow well. The compositional style reminded me of late 90s rock reinterpreted in a more modern way.
A band made up of great musicians that makes me curious to hear what they will be able to compose in the future.
II is Elephant Wknd’s Ep Out Now!
Talented and Refined!
THREE GUYS. ONE WEEKEND. ONE EP. Elephant Wknd were founded in late 2019 when long time friends Claudio D’Ambrogio and David Becker decided to hole up in the rehearsal room with some guitars and no other goal than having fun – and writing a few rock songs. A drummer was needed and quickly found in Thomas Kahl, former drummer in D’Ambrogio’s latest band “Rekorder“. He didn’t only add his smashing drums to the team, but came up with the band name, too.
After last years debut EP the guys again managed to write and record the five raw rockers you can hear on their upcoming second EP – simply entitled “II”. All in just one Weekend.
