E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like – Ellajay

Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Ellajay. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked the vibes of her music.

A modern and very fascinating sound these are the first impressions as soon as I hit the play button.

A refined music that keeps every slight nuance under control and that amazes with harmonic choices and unpredictable chord progression that keeps you glued to the speakers from the first to the last second.

The sinuous, charming and confident voice of Ellajay manages to interpret the lyrics flawlessly, giving the right emphasis.

A very catchy genre of music that stays in your head for a long time.

A talented artist who has a bright future ahead of her.

Part Time Boyfriend is Ellajay’s Single Out Now!

Modern and Catchy!

Ellajay (stage name of Stephanie Schecter) is an indie singer/songwriter based in Brooklyn, NY. She draws listeners in with ear-candy hooks interwoven with raw and earnest lyrics. She writes and sings about themes of unrequited love, mental health, and occasionally serves up the sass about friends and ex-lovers.

Originally hailing from small-town Georgia, Ellajay’s sound is a unique blend of pop, indie, alternative, embedded with some folk and rock roots, and with the new addition of electronic synth pop sounds after being in the studio for most of 2020. Ellajay’s influences roam everywhere from Lana Del Rey to Tom Petty, St. Vincent to Nirvana, Elton John to Billie Eilish, etc etc.

Ellajay released her debut singles “Monsters” and “Skydiving” (produced by Adam Tilzer) in the fall and winter of 2020. “Clocking Out” (produced by Tiger Darrow) was her third single, which kicked off summer celebrating a fresh start with a fresh sound! Her new single Part Time boyfriend is out now.
