Good Day Noir Family,
I already reviewed Emma and the Fragments in the past but they are out now with a new single and I want to share my opinion about it.
The unmistakable style of this band is reconfirmed.
The voice of the singer always manages to create a particular atmosphere that charms you like the mermaids did with Ulysses.
The production is very good, I liked the repetitive notes in the chorus that have an hypnotic power, and that made me travel with my fantasy.
I imagined driving a convertible around the streets of London one of those days when you just want to wander without a precise destination.
This sound made me feel the wind in my hair and showed me the reflection of the city’s lights in the Thames.
Add this tune to your playlists, it is worth it.
Back To Blue is Emma and the Fragments’ Single Out Now!
Dreamy and Nostalgic!
Emma and the Fragments are a female-fronted indie rock band currently based in East London. Their current line-up was completed in 2017, when guitarist Donn joined Jon on drums and Emma on lead vocals. Since then, Emma and the Fragments have made a name for themselves with their hard-edged indie rock, first heard on their 2018 EP Sanity.
On Sanity, Emma and the Fragments blend jangly guitars and dreamy harmonies with crashing crescendos, anthemic chorus’ and the occasional delay-drenched guitar solo. The end result is a uniquely multifaceted sound that rewards a second and third listen, one that would be equally at home in the playlists of both the most ardent Joy Division fan and a serious lover of Circa Waves and Foals.
