Good Day Noir Family,
Diving deeper into Coma Beach’s “The Scapegoat’s Agony”, “Extreme Masochist” is a visceral journey.
Extreme Masochist is Coma Beach’s Single Out Now
Their signature raw, punk-infused sound wraps around a lyrically refined core, inspired by Beckett’s play.
This contrast is captivating, like a punk rocker lecturing at Oxford – rebellion in form, wisdom in essence.
Lemmy-esque vocals deliver the message with brutal honesty, mirroring the play’s themes of isolation and pain. The song’s climax, “Life is Pain,” followed by the abrupt ending, leaves a lasting impact.
It’s discomforting but undeniably thought-provoking.
This track showcases Coma Beach’s brilliance – their ability to weave raw emotion with intellectual depth. They reinterpret the play, not copy it, proving they’re more than just sonic aggression.
They’re coherent, innovative, and truly amazing.

“Extreme Masochist” is track #9 and the fourth single from our album “The Scapegoat’s Agony”. The album title is an allusion to the play “Waiting for Godot” by Irish playwright and novelist Samuel Beckett and points towards the – for the most part – painful and excruciating emotional odyssey of the unnamed antihero.
