E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like – Familiar Action

Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Familiar Action. I discovered this Band while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked the mood of their music.

As soon as I got into the sound of this band I was immediately fascinated.

Irreverent, direct music without strings attached in typical English style. A rough sound made of rust and sweat, made of real life, of daily adventures and problems.

What I like most about the English way of making music is that they speak to the people, the bands give voice to workers, housewives and the little heroes who run this world every day.

Their sound reminded me of bands like the Clash and that late 70’s and 80’s rock/punk.

Beautiful production that left the diamond rough, as it should be for this style of music. It is the listener who must take this gem and slowly understand its nuances.

This is timeless music that can be the soundtrack of many wild moments that will happen in our life.

Listen to the music of Familiar Action it’s worth it

Such A Waste is Familiar Action’s Single Out Now!

Energetic and Irreverent!

5-Piece Art-Rock group fronted by brothers Tom and Ned Armstrong and based in South-East London. Attempting to capture a feeling of disillusionment and urgency with their unique brand of dark and bombastic absurdist pop.

‘Such A Waste’ thrives in its simplicity, only offering the listener three chords for the majority of the duration, over which we hear the bands trademark long form lyrical wordplay and the contrasting voices of the brothers. The juxtaposition in this track is more based in the structural components, wit the contrast between the staccato punk verse and more relieved pop chorus. The track dissipates into a slow build which shows the narrator grasping for an understanding of life and meaning.

‘Such A Waste’ is released via Full Power Records
