our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to George Katsos. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked his way of making music.
As soon as I hit the play button I realized that I was in front of an artist who loves classic rock and who manages to carry the influences of those great bands of the past into his music.
His compositional style made me think of the Doors and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
A fresh, pure rock that puts you in a good mood and frees your head from everyday problems.
The chord progression is never predictable and banal and the rhythmic variations entertain the listener from the first to the last second.
I really liked the tone of the voice and the way George Katsos interprets his songs. You feel the passion it takes to produce these beautiful songs.
A nice discovery that I recommend to everyone.
By The Fire is George Katsos’ Single Out Now!

George Katsos’ 1st independent release is a five-song solo album/EP. The 2nd single “By The Fire” conjures up an image of friends and acquaintances enticing each other to spend time down by ‘the fire’ with a lead vocal comparable to the Doors and Elton John and heavy chorus harmonies.
Inspired by 1960s British invasion and Motown artists, George writes and publishes original adult contemporary popular music with varying degrees of melodies and harmonies. In 1988 one of his bands was selected for regional exposure by MTV and in 1994 one of his songs recorded as a 7-inch vinyl 45 entitled “Johnny Save the World” was highlighted by Billboard Magazine in the ’Choice of the Week’ category along with Led Zeppelin and Stone Temple Pilots. Out of reverence to the Beatles’ song Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and approaching a 20-year musical hiatus, George paid homage to Liverpool, England during Beatlemania. Upon returning home to Northern Virginia, he developed his first solo album “George Katsos EP1” as a 2021 independent release.
