E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like – Giant Head Collective

Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Giant Head Collective. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked his compositional style.

I liked the music of this artist from the very first notes.

A direct rock with no strings attached that makes you imagine driving your mustang on the endless American roads.

Free music with light country nuances that manages to speak directly to the listener’s heart and soul.

In some passages, this sound reminded me of great songwriters like Bruce Springsteen and John Mellencamp.

The chord progression is never predictable and banal and some melodic and rhythmic versions manage to keep the listener’s attention high for the entire duration of the song.

The voice is beautiful, a warm and slightly raucous timbre that releases passion and love for music.
A nice discovery that I recommend to everyone.

Pure and Refined!

Giant Head Collective came about when Mark Breingan was recording local artists and during the downtime the conversation would turn to what Mark was writing. From there jamming would start on the ideas and songs would take shape. The concept of a collective took over and although some of the tracks written ended up on the artists albums. Many didn’t sit with the contributing artists style so these tracks were fully absorbed into the GHC catalogue.

In 2016 GHC released 9 Tales produced by Stuart McDredie (Fratellies, Texas, Blue Nile and more). The COVID pandemic caused some members to review their situation so Mark decided to take advantage of the wonders of modern technology and sought out artists from across the world in a series of collaborations that will be featured on the new album Pandora’s box.
