The rough and powerful sound of this duo is really fascinating.
Modern grunge that manages to keep the listener glued to the speakers from the first to the last second.
The singer’s voice reminded me of Courtney Love, irreverent and intriguing.
Skye Matlock has clear ideas on how to deliver their music to the world. The artistic vision is solid.
A compositional approach that reminded me of The White Stripes. In Skye Matlock blood flows the sacred fire of rock and the lyrics are honest and direct.
This duo has no masks and just follows their instincts.
The drums, the distorted bass, and the convincing vocal interpretation cover every nuance of the sonic spectrum.
The result is Hands an absolutely fantastic song that I recommend everyone to go and listen to.

Hands is Skye Matlock’s Single Out Now
NYC Alt Rock bass and drum duo Skye Matlock creates music with honest lyrics, gritty riffs, and hypnotic soul. Hands is the second release off of the band’s self-titled, debut album.
The release is a fuzz-loaded, female perspective on paranoia and anxiety, showcasing Skye Matlock’s signature sound and musical style of melodic bass, powerful drums, and haunting vocals.
After performing around NYC with other local acts, her first single reached over 1000 streams in its first month. Skye Matlock plans to release the rest of her self-titled EP by the end of Summer 2023. Hands was recorded, produced, and mastered by Jonathan Awad in New York, New York, along with the other tracks included on the EP.
Skye Matlock: “Hands is the result of picking up my bass guitar instead of my journal when I was in a state of distress. I figured I’d expose my internal feelings in the best way I know how, through lyrics and loads of distortion.“
