E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like – Hanwell

Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Hanwell. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and was fascinated by his way of composing music.

The sound of this artist immediately struck me as his compositional style takes its cue from the past but manages to be modern at the same time.

The melody of the voice is, in my opinion, in typical English style and mixes shades of The Cure, Sting, etc. A mysterious and refined sound for sure.

It is difficult to label Hanwell’s music as this guy was able to create something unique and innovative that makes him stand out from the crowd.

The structure of the song is solid and the chord progression is never predictable and banal and manages to entertain the listener from the first to the last second.

The production is very good, especially the mix that leaves the right space for each sound element, and the song breathes well.

A nice discovery that I recommend to everyone.

Unqiue!

Having penned and recorded songs for other acts and played a headline slot at Birmingham’s renowned Sonic Wave Festival, Hanwell built up valuable experience performing to big audiences and turning crowds into fans. Since then, Hanwell has been in and out of the studio with his mates, producing the next two hits in the Catalogue. The key ingredient to the infectious feel good vibe of the Hanwell sound is the casual Friday nights in chilling with the boys and scheming late into the night.

Hanwell says “I’ve just been thinking so much about the summer while I’ve been making these tunes and these next songs just have that hot summer night vibe. I just want it to sound like those days in June when you’re sitting on the backseat of your mate’s car with a beer and the windows down.
