E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like – I am the Unicorn Head

Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to I am the Unicorn Head. I discovered this Band while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked their unique style.

What can you expect from a band that has decided to call themselves like that?

They certainly confirmed the expectations by proposing a unique, avant-garde style. These guys make experimentation their daily bread and venture into strange and fascinating musical paths.

Impossible not to compare them to Primus and other bands that have made themselves known in the world with a sound different from the mainstream one.

The production is essential sometimes rough but perfect for the genre.

The chord progression is never predictable and banal and manages to entertain the listener from the first to the last second.

A nice discovery that I recommend to everyone.

Weirdly Fascinating!

I am the Unicorn Head are introducing themselves to the world with this indie/alternative infused effort detailing the mental struggles they went through during the onset of the global coronavirus pandemic.

When English musician ‘Kid A’ felt isolated in the pandemic, he sought online collaborators on Reddit. An American musician (from Baltimore) delighting in the name ‘Dragon Lord Apocalypse’ replied, and this meeting of minds soon led to the formation of the band. Sharing files online to collaborate on worked so well that they already have a relatively large body of work. This debut release is meaningful to the band as it was the first song they completed together, and relates to the very events that led them forming in the first place.
