our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Jacob Rountree. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and liked the charming vibes of his music.
The sound proposed by this artist, together with his band, is truly an incredible musical experience.
The first thing that struck me is Jacob Rountree‘s beautiful vocal timbre, a deep voice that manages to speak directly to the soul and heart of the listener and makes you believe the words of the lyrics.
We are faced with a great singer-songwriter who, together with his band, manages to entertain us with the quality of the musical arrangements and the proposed music.
This sound has the ability to transport you to a parallel universe in fact Jacob Rountree was able to find his music and has created a unique and ethereal musical limbo around his vision.

When you combine an artistic, contemplative soul with endless energy and adventurous spirit, you discover Jacob Rountree, an alternative-folk/ indie-rock musician, currently backed by Cole Thorne on the djembe, bass and harmonies and Alex Speed on guitar, keys, and vocals, Listeners are always surprised at the fullness of their sound created with many digital effects, loops, percussive guitar playing, intricate fingerpicking, delicately placed percussions and haunting harmonies.
Jacob started his musical career in the hip city of Spokane, Washington, where he was inspired to develop a modern take on classic artists such as Bob Dylan, Nick Drake and Pink Floyd as well as current artists; the Black Keys, Shakey Graves, Ben Howard, and Xavier Rudd.
He recently self-produced and self-recorded his first demo album, “The Common Hour”, and In March of 2020 Jacob and the band released two studio singles. Currently they are in the studio working on another full-length album! Even with the ability to listen to his music online, his fans agree, he real flair and talent happens when he plays live. If his audience isn’t captivated by his introspective lyrics, dynamic rhythms and diverse moods, they are guaranteed to be mesmerized by the trios’ multi-dimensional performance with beautiful harmonies that soothe, and irresistible rhythms to make you move. Jacob and his band create a rare musical experience with a fresh take on timeless music styles. They truly are an act to see.
