Good Day Noir Family,
I already reviewed Joe Pope in the past but he is out now with a new single and I want to share my thoughts about it.
I am still bewitched by the atmospheres that Joe Pope’s music is capable of creating.
As soon as I hit the play button, I immediately immersed myself in the imagination and started traveling.
I imagined the great prairies, the freedom, the waves crashing on the beach. This music is magical and manages to speak directly to the heart and soul.
Pope’s voice and his interpretation can make you believe the words sung in the text and you listen carefully to his songs from the first to the last second.
Beautiful arrangements, essential and proposed at the right time are able to add a veil of magic to the entire production.
Another beautiful song that I suggest to everyone.
Skipping Stones is Joe Pope’s Single Out Now!
Quote: “Recorded with no electrical instruments or samples I tried to keep this as pure as possible. It starts and ends with a wine glass tuned to G#. Bamboo hits make up percussion. Finger style guitar & cello make up the bulk of the instrumentation building off of the drone note with light piano accents. The message is from the perspective of an adolescent boy looking forward and an older self looking back with the advice that he might give. Haunting & simple, deeply personal, I believe this is my best“.
