Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Judy Granville. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked her way of composing music.
The style of this eclectic artist brings with it a typically English way of composing music.
An irreverent and free approach which in my opinion is very interesting. In some moments, her way of ‘thinking’ the songs reminded me of artists like David Bowie.
A style that certainly takes its cue from past styles but that always manages to be modern… this type of music will never be boring for sure.
The production is perfect for the genre, sometimes left a little raw in order to make the blood and sweat ooze from these notes.
I also really appreciated Judy’s way of interpreting the lyrics with her passionate and free way of singing.
A nice discovery that I recommend to everyone

Free and Unique!
Judy Granville is one of a rare breed of singer-songwriters who have begun performing and producing records in their sixties. Judy retired and moved to Brighton, following in the footsteps of many musicians who have made that city their home, and pretty soon she became inspired to take guitar lessons and bought a Fender electric guitar. What emerged was a prolific singer-songwriter.
