our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Katie Drives. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked the rock vibes of her music.
I was immediately captivated by the music of this talented artist.
A girl who has a very rebellious, irreverent, and rock soul… a spirit that I really like.
Her single Maniac is powerful, energetic but also hides a melancholy streak that really hooked me.
Katie has a warm voice, a low timbre capable of speaking directly to the heart.
The distorted guitars push the song and make it grow well. The chord progression is not at all obvious and banal and the listener is entertained from the first to the last second.
The production is very professional and the mix leaves the right space for each sound element and the song breathes well.
A type of sound that winks at the 90s but that subtle tricks in the production manage to make it modern.
A Really nice discovery that I recommend everyone to go and listen to.

Growing up on classical music on the countryside of North Germany, Katie Drives discovered her passion for popular music and singing in her early teenage years.
After doing only covers and working behind the scenes in the music industry, she finished her first original songs during the Corona lockdown in 2020, working together with Berlin-based producer Ole Kuhlmann (Fresh Torge, Freakso, Lunauten).
Katie Drives’s sound can be described as pop rock, inspired by the music of the 2000s, that shaped her generation. As main influences she names Paramore, Avril Lavigne, Pvris, Tonight Alive, The Maine and Against the Current.
