our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Lab on Fire. I discovered this Duo while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked their compositional style.
From the very first notes I was mesmerized by the mysterious sound of this duo.
An intimate music capable of speaking directly to the listener’s heart and soul. Ethereal, fascinating melodies capable of making you fly with your imagination.
I closed my eyes as I listened to their new single Connection Failed and found myself walking through the woods at dusk. I became part of nature and felt safe. A parallel universe where everything was possible, I flew with owls and hunted with wolves illuminated by the full moon.
A magical music capable of moving and letting you know parts of your unconscious that you didn’t even know you had.
A fantastic find that I recommend to everyone.

Lab on Fire is a Prague-based band made up of two musicians, Jan Kleník and Proki Pivoňka, who met in the 1990s when they were members of The Hyena Family. Jan Kleník later co-founded Ohm Square and became a successful music producer. With its refined sound, Lab on Fire balances on the border between shoegaze and electropop. The duo is joined by guitarist Yarda Helešic, drummer Jiří Stivín, or singer Zaelbeth, who help create their sonic palette.
