Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Leonardo Barilaro. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked the magic atmosphere of his music.
It is evident from the first notes that we are facing a great musician.
The music of this artist makes you travel and manages to transport you to another dimension.
As soon as I felt his fingers caressing the piano I was crossed by stardust and I left for an interstellar journey.
In Leonardo’s music, I found his love for space and the universe. His music, which mixes classic elements with a prog-rock sound, manages to be very modern and futuristic.
This music would have been perfect as a soundtrack for films like Interstellar.
I, who am fascinated by the universe and astronomy, immediately found myself in the melodies proposed by this talented artist.
Listen to his music it’s worth it!
Eyeland is Leonardo Barilaro’s Ep Out Now!
Leonardo is a pianist, composer and aerospace engineer. And he will play the first piano concert on Mars. You can define his compositions as Contemporary Space Music, where he merges the traditional acoustic piano and synthesizer being played live at the same time. As a pianist he graduated at the Music Conservatory, studying composition and developing his passion for synths and electronic music.
He was mentored by Jordan Rudess, in the meanwhile he got a PhD in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Padova, researching on space safety. During those years he did a concert at the ESRANGE Space Center in cold Sweden while taking part in his first space mission with SCRAT. In 2006 he created the Music House to develop his View – the project ‘Nullo Die Sine Nota’. The Latin sentence means ‘Not A Day Without a Note’.
He recorded four studio albums and one EP, with always new music in the flow. He played in several countries like Italy, Germany, UK, Netherlands, and Turkey. He teamed up with many artists during the years, like Yossi Sassi, Aliki Chrysochou and Anna Utopia Giordano. In the last 9 years, he has worked with several dancers too; the latest chapter of this experience is ‘BlackShip’. In 2016 Leonardo moved to Malta. He wanted to deeper discover himself, islands are the perfect metaphor of our planet, and an excellent place for freediving. Everyday Leonardo takes a new step forward his Dream, wishing to bring on Mars with him also the people closest to his music.
