Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Little Drum. I discovered this Band while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked the atmosphere of their music.
The sound of this band is refined and you immediately feel that you are in front of experienced musicians.
Harmonic intuitions are highly sought after and every little detail is kept under control, creating a magical and ethereal atmosphere.
The singer’s voice is fantastic, warm, sinuous that fills the listener’s heart and soul, in some moments she reminded me of Tracy Chapman.
The production of this E.p is in my opinion flawless, there is a common thread that unites all the songs and it is passion and love…the love these guys have for music and love as the feeling that moves the universe.
You need to take your time to listen to this gem, this music must be sipped like a vintage wine.
A fantastic discovery that I recommend to everyone.

After spending many years moving in the same musical circles and working together on a variety of projects including Paolo Nutini, Imelda May, Jack Savoretti, George The Poet,Dido, Mel C and Faithless. Matty Benbrook, Pauline Taylor and Donny Little found themselves drawn together by their shared love of blues, folk, soul, the occasional sprinkling of electronica mixed with some good old fashioned songwriting.
Their individual talents come together as Little Drum, whose four track debut EP, Darling Ocean, is a gentle landscape of retro influences and pop sensibilities with themes of hope, love and loss. Inspired by experiences in music, life and a love for London.
