E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like – Luna and the Fathers

Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Luna and the Fathers. I discovered this Band while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked the intimacy of their music

Are you ready to start an intimate journey in search of yourself?

The music of this band immediately struck me in particular the voice of Luna who in some passages reminded me of Tracy Chapman.

A voice that has a history behind it, a voice capable of speaking directly to the soul and heart. A voice that emerges from a gentle soul, an angel who wants to free herself from the chains and finally fly free in the sky.

The musical arrangements are magical and essential, they accompany the melody without ever exaggerating and in my opinion, this minimalism is the key to creating such a fascinating and mysterious sound.

Beautiful chord progression never predictable and banal that keeps the listener glued to the speakers from the first to the last second.

A nice discovery that I recommend to everyone.

Warm Rain is Luna and the Fathers’ Single Out Now!

Magical and Sweet!

With their delicate debut single ‘Warm Rain’, the up-and-coming German Indie-Folk-Trio ‘Luna and the Fathers’ is about to turn the singer songwriter world upside down and every cold heart into a raging fire. Lead singer Luna, a small town girl, cut her teeth playing solo shows around Hamburg under the name of Desmond Lewis throughout the last years. With her precise guitar play and her subtle storytelling voice, she quickly made a name for herself in the northern German music scene.

Since then she has won local singer-songwriter contests and even played support for big German acts like JORIS. Fast forward to a few months later, Luna came out as Trans. She changed her name, asked two of her best friends – bass player and vocalist Mario Kolbe and drummer Marcus Theilmann – to join her project and recorded a 5-track EP in December 2020. The trio was born.

“Warm Rain” is an apology to all those people that we would like to spend more time with, but fail to manage. The song marks the beginning of a musical journey, empowering everyone who does not identify with the traditional gender roles. Despite only recently formed, ‘Luna and the Fathers’ are more than ready to warm-heartedly introduce their upcoming Debut EP “Emilia” to the world in late 2021.
