E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like – Malin Wättring

Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Malin Wättring. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I was mesmerized by her music.

The music of this artist is incredible. Do you know when you have the feeling of finding yourself in front of a new star? This is the case… after a few seconds, I already had the impression that I have discovered something unusual and fascinating.

I have no doubts Malin Wättring will go a long way, her vocal timbre is original, passionate, and in some moments sinister and seems to hide a primordial secret … maybe she brings with her the magic vibes of Scandinavian nature.

Her compositional style is difficult to label, a psychedelic rock with grunge nuances that brings with it influences from bands such as Radiohead, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Bjork, and Florence and the Machine…without forgetting Nick Cave of course.

This album is a gift, I haven’t heard such great music in a long time… I became a fan instantly.

In Malin Wättring’s music, there is everything I like, passion, desperation, nostalgia but above all compositional freedom.

Absolutely recommended for everyone.

Songs of Wounds and Healing is Malin Wättring’s Album Out Now!

Ten out of Ten!

Malin Wättring has established herself on the modern jazz scene as a saxophonist and composer. She has played with some of Sweden’s finest jazz and improvisation musicians and has won several awards for her artistic work, including with Stenastipendiet 2019 and Composer of the Year at the Swedish National Radio’s Jazz Cat Gala 2017.

The album Songs of wounds and healing is out now. On the new record she plays guitar and sings and with her she has a new band. The music can be described as a combination of indie rock and singer-songwriter. Intimacy and primordial power in symbiosis!
