E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like – Metrophobia

Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Metrophobia. I discovered this Duo while shuffling songs on Spotify and was fascinated by their music.

The hypnotic and intriguing sound of this duo immediately struck me for the originality of the proposed melodies.

A compositional method that takes its cue from the past but manages to be modern at the same time.

The new single Kryptonite For The Superman is a song with an engaging groove that makes you want to dance. The vocal melody is nostalgic and this mix creates a perfect balance that manages to entertain the listener from the first to the last second.

You feel that Metrophobia have a great compositional experience behind them. The sounds selection is very well thought out and the chord progression is interesting and offers very wise and solid harmonic variations.

Surely we are faced with talented musicians that I recommend everyone to go and listen to.

A great find!

Kryptonite For The Superman is Metrophobia’s Single Out Now!

Nostalgic and Refined!

The two Swiss/Spanish musicians first met a long time ago, and did a couple of projects together. Reunited in 2021, they worked hard to write and record their debut album : « Silent Treatment ».
Metrophobia influences come mainly from the independent scene of the 90’s. Alternative rock, noisy pop, indie rock, grunge, and punk-rock : Pixies, Teenage Fanclub, Dinosaur Jr, Catherine Wheel, Bivouac, Ride, Sebadoh, Guided By Voices, Pavement, Grandaddy. Metrophobia uses their influences with a modern touch, to create original songs, powerful and loaded with melodies.

Markus Gmür : vocals, acoustic guitar, José Garrido : guitar, bass, drums programming
